Tryouts
Tryouts are mandatory for players whose goal is an AA, A or B team; players who skip tryouts are assigned to a C team. Tryout dates and times are subject to change.
- 8NOV · SUN15U tryoutsNovember 8, 9 and 10, 6:30 to 8:45 PM. A player who chooses high school hockey instead receives a full refund.
- 22NOV · SUNJunior Gold tryoutsNovember 22 and 23, 6:30 to 10:00 PM.
- Past date: 19OCT · MONSquirt tryouts beginMonday, October 19, 4:00 to 10:00 PM. Then October 21 and 22, 4:30 to 9:40 PM, and October 24 and 25, 1:15 to 7:15 PM.
- Past date: 20OCT · TUE10U tryouts beginTuesday, October 20, 5:15 to 8:45 PM. Then October 22, 5:30 to 9:00 PM, and October 24 and 25, 9:30 AM to 1:00 PM.
How tryouts work
- Closed tryouts: parents, family and friends do not watch.
- Outside evaluators, with no family members playing at MYHA, led by a paid outside tryout coordinator.
- A 48-hour cooling-off period follows tryouts.
- Players wear Minnetonka gear only.
- No player may try out with an outstanding account balance.
- Placement decisions are final; rankings, scores and evaluator comments are confidential.
Peewee and Bantam AA
An optional AA tryout runs before standard tryouts, with a non-refundable $150 fee; goalies try out free. Day 1 cuts to 30 to 35 skaters, day 2 to about 19 to 22 skaters and 2 or 3 goalies, and the AA team is rostered after day 5.
