Questions families ask

What equipment does my player need?

It varies by group. Soft stick and juniors players get a stick and only need sneakers and a water bottle. Boys: helmet, shoulder pads, elbow pads, gloves, stick, mouth guard, cleats and a protective cup. Girls: goggles, stick, mouth guard and cleats. Box lacrosse: helmet, shoulder and elbow pads, gloves, stick, mouth guard and tennis shoes. As your player grows, he or she will need more equipment; the USA Lacrosse equipment guide explains each piece.

Does my player need a USA Lacrosse membership?

Yes, for every program that requires equipment. It is a league requirement and provides supplemental insurance, and an active membership is required to register. Soft stick programs do not need one.

How are teams formed?

Players register individually. In spring, rosters are formed by school and district, and our primary goal is keeping friends together. In the fall league, players are rostered with their spring teammates.

Do the fees include processing fees?

No. Pricing does not include online processing fees.

Where are the rules of play?

The OLC youth rules summarize the rules of play for each grade: field size, stick lengths, goal size, players on the field, game length, overtime, timeouts, counts, penalties and game-day rosters. Rules exclusive to OLC are called out.

Can I coach?

Yes. Fill out the OLC coaching form for an upcoming league or program and we will follow up with next steps.

Can I return team store items?

Every item in the team store is made to order, so returns are accepted only when an item arrives defective. Each item lists its sizing to help you choose the right fit.
