Meet the coaches

    Started skiing at two on family trips out west, raced for the Trollhaugen race team and then Team Gilboa, and captained the St. Olaf ski team for three years as an All-American, graduating in economics and finance. He traded commodities for 15 years, has coached at Team Gilboa every season since 1998, in every age group, and was St. Olaf's head coach from 2004 to 2006. Off snow: kiteboarding, waterskiing, golf, mountain biking and competitive pickleball.

    His parents taught him to ski at Nubs Nob in Harbor Springs, Michigan, where he raced for the Nubs Nob USSA and FIS team and was a Junior Olympian many times over. He skied four varsity years at St. Olaf, majoring in mathematics, and has coached at Team Gilboa since graduating in 2007, first as an assistant US Ski coach, then as head U16 coach, and now leading U10 to U14. Summers, he races sailboats and has run the waterfront at the Lake Minnetonka Sailing School.

    Started in Team Gilboa's Jr. Race program and went on to the Central Division A Team, the Junior Olympics and J2 US Nationals. After Jefferson High School she raced NCAA Division 1 for the University of New Hampshire from 2007 to 2011, earning Academic All-American honors. Her enthusiasm motivates young athletes, and she leads Jr. Race.

  • Torey GreenwoodLead U18/FIS CoachSeventeen years coaching full time, first at Killington Mountain School, then 11 years as Aspen's lead FIS coach. Torey started racing with Team Gilboa, then moved to Winter Park in high school and developed into a FIS and NorAm racer. A USSA Level 300 coach who loves helping hard-working athletes become the best they can be. Off snow: camping, travel, mountain biking and the lake.
  • Ellie WhiteU14 CoachStarted in Jr. Race and raced with Team Gilboa through high school at Edina, competing in FIS and becoming a Junior Olympian and a Division A Central athlete. She raced for the CU Alpine Club at the University of Colorado, then coached youth alpine and freeski programs in Telluride and led youth backpacking trips in summer. Ski racing is one of the most defining experiences of her life, and she is back where it began.
  • Jack McNeillAssistant U16/18/FIS CoachStarted in Team Gilboa's Jr. Race program, following his older sister Krissy, then raced for BHSRC: a Junior Olympian, a Team Central member all four years of high school, a MidAm slalom winner and a J2 US Nationals competitor. After the Blake School he earned a biology degree at Furman, where he played NCAA Division 1 lacrosse. He has coached since 2013 and calls ski racing the most important experience of his youth.
  • Jack LindsayAssistant U16/18/FIS CoachStarted skiing at two at Buck Hill and raced for the Buck Hill Ski Racing Team for ten years, then joined the Gilboa North Star team, qualifying for junior nationals and placing second in U16 slalom. After Burnsville High School he raced for Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club and Colorado Mountain College on the RMISA circuit, and is finishing a business finance degree at the University of Minnesota. Off snow: boating and the potter's wheel.
  • Odin MuellerAssistant U16/18/FIS CoachA second-generation Team Gilboa racer: his dad skied and coached for the club for many years. Odin came up from Jr. Race through the US Ski program to championship events, placed fifth at the Minnesota State Meet for Roosevelt High School and the Minneapolis Alpine Ski Team, and has raced FIS across the Midwest, Colorado, Vermont and Canada. Off snow: mountain biking and basketball.
