Central Region 1
Selections
How athletes qualify
Region 1 fills its own quotas for the Hosking Championships. Everything beyond that is selected by the Central Division, on its own published criteria.
Region 1 quotas: the Hosking Championships
U14 Hosking Championships First- and second-year U14s are all invited to the Central Division U14 Hosking Junior Championships. If a quota is set, Region 1 ranks athletes by Planet Cup scoring. It counts one more than half of the races held up to two weekends before, rounded down. Ties break on the best single race, then the second best. Athletes without enough Planet Cup points are ranked by their best race. Discretionary selections are available; talk to your program director first.
Region 1 quotaU16 Hosking Championships First- and second-year U16s are all invited. If a quota is set, Region 1 selects on the U.S. Ski & Snowboard points list that closes at the end of January, in slalom and giant slalom, ranked by the NTSM method. The quota is known on or just after February 1. Ties break on the lower points in the other discipline. Discretionary selections are available; talk to your program director first.
